Dealing With Covid-19 And Selling Your Home


I believe that the year was around 1996. The Cherry Creek Realtor’s years. The internet was new and starting to gain steam. Being a Techy of sorts, I saw what was coming as technology relates to Real Estate. It was a good thing, it would have some bumps.  It would change the way we would practice real-estate and I told all the agents that were in my computer/real estate training classes that if they didn’t embrace and learn  computers, the internet and technology, they wouldn’t be in the business in 5 years.  Most listened and some didn’t. Never  was a statement more true.  So why would I start a Bolg post on Covid-19 with the explanation of personal experience with technology? Because with all of the challenges with technology, with all the good and the limited bad  we have seen it just may be the answer to helping you get your home sold safely in these unusual times and the challenges of selling your home while limiting exposure and maintaining maximum safety.

We have all heard the advisements, seen the news about limiting exposure and self quarantine.  Hopefully everyone is taking this seriously and doing what they can to help flatten out the present curve. I think if everyone does we will be able to limit the duration of the growth of the virus.  I hope that everyone also does not buy into the panic hording purchases that deny everyone of needed goods.  If we are smart in our behaviors and cautious in our contacts and hygiene we can all continue to do our jobs, have the goods and services we need without crashing a economy.  The bottom line is that we need to maintain some degree of normalcy while taking the needed steps to change the curve of the growth of the virus.

So the question of what will  I do to sell your home while maintaining the highest degree of safety in the marketing and sale of your home in these trying times?  I am going to use technology , common sense and upgraded hygiene to market your home.  I will do virtual video tours for all active listings. I will also offer floor plans on all listings.   I will ask in the MLS that all buyers view your listing’s virtual tour, floor plan and pictures before requesting a showing.  I will ask that buyers agents and buyers  limit their showing times to the shortest time possible.  I will limit showings to 1 at a time.  I will provide booties and gloves  for the home and sanitizing products to be used by perspective buyers and buyers agents.

In short, if we do a better job using technology to market and “show” your home we should limit the showings to the serious buyers resulting in a sale with fewer showings and less exposure to you and your family. And by making hygiene products available and insist that they be used, we can lessen the amount of exposure.  My goal is to help you get your home sold safely as possible, for the highest possible price, with the best possible terms in the shortest amount of time.
